Volkswagen Marine SDi 60-4
The SDi 60-4 is the base version of our four cylinder marine engine. Correspondingly, the installed cooling capacity allows unlimited use of full power without any problem. Its relatively wide engine speed range makes it the most universal of the three versions and a favoured choice for larger sailing yachts. Its silent operation ensures comfort at cruising speeds, whereas the 44 kW (60 hp) offer an ample reserve of thrust. The favourable weight/performance ratio also makes the SDi 60-4 a nice option for small semi-planing craft.
Easily meets EU standards and all expected future emission standards for marine engines.

The Saildrive
We have not invented this type of drive unit, but we refined it and offer it in combination with our very silent engines to explore new fields of application. This has even caused owners to install Volkswagen Marine Saildrive packages aboard motor boats which were originally designed for V-drive systems. The resulting reduction in noise and vibration levels is very hard to achieve with conventional shaft drives. The Volkswagen Marine Saildrive is available with all variants of our for cylinder, i.e. with ratings from 29 kW (40 hp) up to 55 kW (75 hp).
